List update
Wow - I felt like I had to dust off that banner above just now. I haven't put it on the top of one of my posts for what feels like a long long time.
That being said, after last weeks open forum apology to my knitting (which was supposed to be comedic with some truth mixed in..) I have managed to knit a little more this week than I have in recent past weeks.
Nothing much to report other than I am working like a mad woman trying to get through the grey and black wrap vest I have blogged about before. Enough is enough already! I has been on my needles for 13 months and I need my project bag space as well as the needles back etc. AND I really really really want to wear it to the local knitters frolic at the end of the month. Yet it stares at me in a bag while I write this post... taunting me so. As if to say - "ya right you'll get me finished in time... that is what you said LAST year". Well I am sure gonna try....
I have edited my list.... shocking. Slashed somethings... knowing full well I will ned to re locate them to next year. But I added an it. For my mother in law... for (dare I say it?) Christmas 2012. It is an intrigueing knit. Can hardly wait to fully sink my teeth into it... after the wrap vest ;)

A knitters apology
This is photoless post... I am sorry to my followers for that. If I had photos I would share them... but alas... I do not.
I want to make this an open apology to my projects... my beautiful, fibre=y knitting projects... they must think they have done something wrong. I have not looked at them in ages. So here it goes...
Dear knitting projects...
My heart aches for the time where my life is a little bit simpler and full of knitting goodness. This time of year definitely not allow for that.... just look at the last time I blogged!
SO dear, sweet projects... I am so very very very sorry. Sorry for neglecting you... sorry for not picking you up... sorry for letting adulthood/life get in the way of my love for you!
However... it is april... and april means good good things! I will be trying to get to my weekly knit night at least twice this month AND the DOWNTOWN KNIT COLLECTIVE has their annual Knitters Frolic! I am so very excited. A whole day of anything and everything to do with fibre!
So do not despair dear, sweet projects... I will return to you... I am hopeful for sooner rather than later...
Forever Yours,
Christine

I'm back!
Just a quick note to check in and say i have not fallen off the face of the earth.
Haven't done much since the frilly skirt though either. BOO ME.
Made a nother pair of socks that look like these ones from Christmas
They don't go as high. More like ankle socks. But they were a simple pattern that I was able to do again.
Coming up this week though... I will probably post pictures of a wrap sweater I made for my girlfriends daughter... and hopefully will post a WIP of the socks I am making for her...
Happy to be back!

Frilly Yarn!
Apologies dear followers for being a day late in my regular Sunday posts! What a busy weekend... Annual training retreat for my job was this past weekend from friday to sunday and I came home sosososo tired.
So today was another day - full of fun and mommy nonsense. Regular day job + geo caching with the kiddies after school and chairing a monthly school council meeting... hardly a breather to even post today... but thanks to my exhausted kiddies... at 9:07pm I am (finally) able to post!
AND the best part? I have a finish to share from my YoP list ;)
This is the Frilly Princess Skirt I posted a magazine photo of a few weeks ago... it is SO cute... and now I have to make at least 2 more. This one was to be for my neice that will be 1 in June, but it looks like it may just fit my girlfriends daughter that will be 2 in July... so I will have to make a smaller size for my neice and a bigger size for my other neice.
I loved making this skirt - what a great use of a yarn that I thought I was other wise no longer interested in!
As I look at my list - I notice something... my finishes are mostly for OTHERS! Must focus on myself a little more I think ;)
Oh well... with this list - it looks like I will have no other choice but to do so! Except for a scarf for the husband...

non-productive week two...
This is not good... week two and nothing much to write here... yikes!
Similar to last week, I have been working diligently on side projects for co-workers, so that they may donate to my fundraising efforts for the Crop for the Cure - it is next weekend! I am so very excited!!!
I just finished some leg warmers tonight... i will post them on Friday, when i display some finished objects!
Thank you for visiting my blog - event though it is so very very uneventful...

a not too productive update...
Not too much to share this week... except for a couple of add ons to "The List" - and a couple of reasons why I haven't been so focussed on my YoP list...
First the diversions...
I have been making quick knits for a couple of gals at work... headbands and hats mostly (even though I am making a pair of legwarmers right now that are pretty close to killing me... they don't knit up as fast as hats and headbands!). What is nice about these diversions though, is instead of paying me for my time and materials, they are making nice donations to me, for a function I am attending in two weeks.
It is called (click the image for more information)
This wicked event is taking place on the 27th and 28th of January. Me and my two best friends will be making the trek to Oakville Ontario (in rush hour!) and partaking in this 22hrs of crafty madness! It is mostly for scrapbooking and other paper crafts, but I will have a various knitted projects in tow, and maybe the odd scrappy one... but I don't know yet. All of my donations I take will go to the Cosmic Girls Team, and they will be participating in the Weekend to End Women's Cancers later this year.
Pretty good reasons for the diversions don't ya think?
Next, the add ons... in the lastest issue of Creative Knitting there was this...
The skirt is made with that fancy yarn that I made all those scarves with last year! I have added that to my list and will be making it for my neice - who is turning 1 in June. I will likely also make it for my 2 yer old neice, I will just have to adjust the pattern to make it bigger for her...
Next is the Girl Friday Sweater Jacket - I have talked about it a couple of times on here. If you look at past posts, you will find a picture of it... I started the ribbing last night, and I have altered it to knit it all in 1 piece up to the arm holes. That way I won't have to sew the side seams later! I like that.
Must go and do another row or two of ribbing, and continue to work on these leg warmers... I need to get my donations together by the end of the week so I don't have to worry about it closer to the date...
Happy Sunday Everyone!

The eve of back to reality...
For this YoP sunday post, I just want to reflect on how productive I had been over the last 2 weeks. Many F.O.s... gift knitting finished, a project or two for myself, etc. I had some great time to sit and knit at my LYS, something I haven't done in at lest two months. I loved every second of it. The inspiration there is amazing.
I am back to work tomorrow after a very restful and well deserved 2 weeks break. I am very happy with where I am on my list for the Year of projects too! I will look at it again in the next few weeks and see if there are any revisions that need to be made...
New year and a fresh attitude ;)

F.O. Friday Photo Shoot!!
Warning! This post is full of photos! I have been off from work for 2 whole weeks and it has been a knitting frenzy around here!
Here we go!
First up, a photo of me in my snuggle shrug. it is all knitting, no purling, nothing fancy - just started with 11 stitches and increased one stitch at each end on every row. Once the yearn was done, I sewed it up and put an edging on it. The yarn I chose was a mohair blend from Fleece Artist
These are flip flop socklets. They have been in progress for a while (second sock syndrome) and I finally finished the second socklet on new years day.
These are the Pirate Feet Slippers from my year of projects list ~ slowly but surely I am getting through these...
This is the bernat slouchy hat on my Year of projects list. I am not sure that I am happy with it - I may do it again. I will trying washing and blocking it and see if that makes a different.
Lastly,
This ia a headband I made for a co-worker. No special pattern... just from my head... similar to the black on I made a few weeks ago.
Overall I would say I had a very productive 2 weeks off! lots of relaxing and lots of knitting!
Now I must go and cast on a KAL I am participating in on one of the groups I belong to on Ravelry. I have never been part of a KAL before - I am kind of excited!
Good night!

Happy New Year!
Just wanted to take a minute and wish my followers and other readers best wished for a happy and healthy new year!
I don't (as a rule) make hard and fast resolutions... never have really...
I do have a few exciting knitting related things coming up this year though... I will see the Year of Projects group through to the end of June this year - which I have been a part of since July 1st, 2011... I will also be participating in a 12 for myself in 2012 group on Ravelry. These 2 groups have really helped me to focus my knitting a little more... and my productivity has boomed because of it! My WIPS are getting under control and I am actually finishing things! What is exciting, is in the 12 for myself group, I am being forced to make somethings for myself! And for someone who historically doesn;t do this, that is amazing. Within this same group I will be participating in my very first Knit ALong (KAL). Super excited still!
One thing that is coming up at the end of this month is a "Crop for the Cure" event that I have participated in before, but as a scrapbooker - thing time I will likely take a bunch of knitting projects... 22 hours of creating bliss! All going toward a good cause for Breast Cancer! I have a couple of gals at work that would love for me to make them a headband or two - I can get those started and finished in an evening, and may just do a few of them, and when the co-workers ask how much, I will tell them - make a sizeable donation to the Cosmic Girls for the weekend to end breast cancer and I will be happy.... stash year for something that doesn't take much time, but can go toward a great cause...
That leads me into another thing I would like to do more of this year... charity Knitting. I may make a few hats and scratch mitts for the pediatric department in a couple of local hospitals, as well as mitts and hats for an inner city school that I used to work at - for children that often don't come to school well equiipped for cold weather.
Amazing how a new year seems to bring on a world of new possibilities... thank you for taking the time to read my blog and follow my journey...
